Pretty much game over for this league now as Greg stormed 36/38 minumum points clear last night at Tuesdays game coming through to beat Dan heads up in the first game then facing Sam heads up in the second but missing out on the money. Still a 1st and 2nd gave him enough to stretch the gap. This emans that Pete must do the double and hope bonus points are on his side.

Second place however was blown wide open and can still be anybodies game either Adam, Dan, Pete or at a stretch Karl or Sam can take the £40 second prize.

As discussed on Tuesday the next league really isnt going to be untill the summer when we may have to re-think alot of elements, maybe go back to the one game a month idea, maybe a tournment style instead of a league or maybe change it to Sundays.

Anyway all in all this league has been the most successfull to date with finally a Royal Flush on the table, 7 players and some great poker, even if most of it was fishing, I said to Dan as I left its like we have gone in a circle and playing how we used to play when we first started, only now we know we are doing it.

It was pretty straight forward on Tuesday (no pun intended). Dan let slip his fight at the top a little going out to my kings and then gambling blind later on in the second game short stacked. Steve hit a lucky 3 outer against Karl to see his chip stack grow in the first game but finally missing out on the win to Ads heads-up later on. Bonus points were flying around as I picked up 6 and Pete and Steve gained and extra 2.

Ads I think I might remember you picking up 2? Let me now if you did and I will add them.

So come the end of the evening I had another consistant but still no win finishes which means becasue of Dan's early exits I am now a fair few points ahead at the top with only two more weeks to go. However second place has now been blasted wide open for any of the middle order to take advantage.

Everybody think about the bonus points system and if they want to continue using it, we'll call a vote in the last week with the next league in mind. Coincidently I would only be 4 points clear at the top if bonus points werent and option in this league.

Sunday game was fun last week, lets try and do it again this Sunday.

Well done to Karl and Steve for winning Tuesdays games, that now means that we have all played 6 games and everybody has won one each! Well that is of course apart from me who just loves second place. But second places add up and has put me just a point in front at the top of the league after this week. The middle order is very close though and its still anybodies league.

Karl and Steve both scored in the high twenties to put their mark on the league and with a similar performance next week would put the pressure on the top two.

Good games again this week, think we all had a laugh, even if it was at the expense of Dan and Ppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettteeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

New League continues to amaze!

It's been roughly 68 weeks, 340 hours, 2040 minutes, 122400 seconds and £680 worth of game play to finally see our first Tuesday night Royal Flush! Congratulations to Dan for slamming down his Q of Clubs to take a massive pot of 4000 and picking up 10 extremely vital bonus points which makes him a clear leader at the top of our record breaking Easters Masters GMPC.

Other league news involves Sam who jumped a massive 3 places this week with a first and second finish to put the pressure on the middle order. Sam found his luck was in when he cracked kings with trip 2's and found himself hitting his live cards in almost every draw.

Sorry to hear that Neal couldn’t make it again this week due to personal reasons, our thoughts are with ya mate.

New League got off to a flyer with a massive 8 people signing up to this season’s championship. The night began with a new 100k starting stack and a seated table of seven. This was because unfortunately Neal was unable to attend. An hour had past and amazingly there were still seven players sat at the table! It was only a matter of time before some big hands started to come along and it looked like they were all going to Sam. But with some persistence from Adam and some others, we were down to four. Pete raising pre-flop with Kings and Dan being a fish meant that Pete made a great laydown with his kings two a 5 4 two pair! Myself being short stack managed to battle away and for once getting my timing a bit better, and with a good call against Pete with my little quacks meant that it was down to 3. Dan battled hard but was unable to survive and heads up was nice and quick as the blinds called for drastic action!

Second game started late which meant that some people didn’t give a shit and in my opinion £30 is a lot to pay if you don’t really want to play at all after one game. So as it should be the players that were playing loose went out first leaving a table of 5 to fight for the final points. Soon enough we were down to four again but it was Adam who went out to make it three. With Karl in the small blind and myself looking down at 10 4 off thinking pleased don’t raise Karl didn’t the honourable thing (fuck you Dan) and just flat called. I thought I had hit the jackpot when I flopped trip 10's only to be checked down to the river which came another 10! No chips were exchanged by 4 bonus points helped me into 2nd place. Shortly after Karl did the un-honourable thing in small blind flat calling with a couple of bullets as I found myself looking down at a pair of tens. No need to tell you what happened there. Dan battled away at Karl’s chips to finally take the win putting him in a nice first place.

IF YOU HAVENT PAID ALREADY PLEASE ATTEMPT TO GET ME YOUR MONEY ASAP!

1.Bonus points will be staying the same and there will be no side pot just for them, I think they have worked out well this time around making the league closer and therefore more enjoyable. However if you have any other ideas that you believe will dramatically improve them then I'm all ears. (Ps just because you have bad experiences with them this time around doesn’t mean you wont have better ones next time)

2. The points system, it was suggested a week back or so that it might be a good idea to have missing players picking up minimum points. i.e. if Pete never showed but enters into the league then he gets 2 points giving last place on the night 3.

3. The money.... this time round it was a bit of a shambles with regards to money and I’m not really a great fan of having to chase peeps for it, so if we could all just cough up with in the first two weeks then I will put it in a safe place and we shall never speak of it again till the final. Look at it like entering a tournament, you have to buy-in before you get any cards.

4. Tuesday nights, from now on we will not have the league table present on a Tuesday night as I think some of us feel that Tuesday nights have become to 'League orientated' and not so much about the night its self, so from now on you will have to wait to see scores and progression on the site the following day. (There will be an exception for this on the final Tuesday) also be preparing for the day to change sometimes to either a Monday or Wednesday to accommodate for people who can’t adjust working schedules. No names.... ADS.

5. And finally People Not Being Arsed. Got no time for it, if you don’t want to play then don’t. Nobody is forcing you to. But make sure you tell us before the league starts because I bad atmosphere and people getting the ump isn’t something I want to look forward to on a Tuesday night. Lets not loose sight of the fact that it’s just a night out with mates to have a laugh and a bit of a gamble. Soon enough we wont be able to get us all together like we do so lets just make the most of it now.

Anyways if you go to the league page you will see that I have announced a payout date of the 20th which is the week after Dan is away, however if we have a problem with that date then I will be moving it forward to the 6th which is next Tuesday. Which means its make or break.

New Year kicked off in many ways,

Happy new year one and all and there's no better way to kick of the new year than with a new GMPC league!. However there are going to be a few little changes to hopefully improve the way the league works.

1. All players will be required to pay a buy in for £20 (this can be given to me at any point over the course of the tourne if you are short of cash but as soon as you are on the list you have to pay it)

2. This year we will be paying a first and second place. Based on 6 player in a league we will have £120 which will be as follows:

- 1st place £80
- 2nd place £40

3. The payout date will be set to around 6 weeks and will be announced on the poker league page.

4. The point structure implemented before Christmas will stay as it proved very successful.

5. The bonus points scheme will also stay however this year:

- Full House = 2 points
- Quads = 4 points
- Straight Flush = 6
- Royal Flush = 10

Like before you must win the hand in order to get the points, however note if the board shows any of the above the hand is NOT won by a high card, this will go down as a high card win only.

Thats about it, all the rules that havent been mentioned e.g. "4 players must attend in order to count points" will stay the same if anybody has any questions email me at info@atlantismedia.ltd.uk.

Tuesdays Game was interesting with practically everybody going out trying to make a move on there opponent...So at the end of the first game Dan and Adam were left to battle it out, Adam needing the points to catch up with Greg after missing the first game of the season. Lucky Adam did win to take max points from the first game and also managing to make second in the second game unfortunately running into Stevie boys bitches. This is all good however for the league as it now stands wide open for anybody to take the prize!

So the second league has come to an end and like usual there was one clear winner! Congratulations to Karl who even though at the start of the tournement he didnt win many games he came through towards the end to pick up the title. I might add however that he did this is such syle by getting quad 4's and quad 3's in tuesdays game! I have also received my new cards and chips which are really nice, will bring them along to the next game. Congrats again to Karl.
